“Poor thing”
I said finding it on the ground. Only the size of my toe and him/her was on the
ground under the lemon tree not able to protect itself from the cold air. It made a small chirp
calling for its mum but nowhere near loud enough. I decided the little bird was
in harm’s way I did not want to see a tiny bird get shredded to pieces by a big
fat 7 kg cat!
Mum picked
up the bird and said “Jacob you have saved him/her” I felt like a shining star.
We put the bird in a warm box (like spa pool). The nest was nowhere in sight
and we did not know the number of the vet.
Lucky for us mum had a friend that takes care
of a heap of baby birds that lost their mum and dad’s. They were not home but
there was a box that we were meant to put the bird in. We put the bird in the
box and went home.
When we got
home the cat meowed he was hungry so we gave him some cat biscuits.
That was a really nice thing to do Jacob! I loved your description.
ReplyDeleteJacob, I enjoyed your story - some of the worsd you chose to leave really make an impact on the audience. Like -'shredded to pieces by a big fat 7 kg cat'
ReplyDeleteWe also have a very fat cat at the McAllister house.
