‘Jenner’, ‘where are you?’ I see nets flying around and diving down like gannets. My first thought was to run, so I took off like a jet. Then suddenly a net came crashing down behind me, I escape by a matter of inches.

I scramble to cover. There’s nothing else to do but sit down and watch all my friends and family being captured. I can’t resist the urge to dive out into the open and try rescuing whoever I can.

Then suddenly a net smacked down over me, my legs tangled into the plastic like fabric. Captured.

harbour lunch bar grand(ish) opening today/tonight

Jake here. I give you this post with good news, the place that I have been working at for a month now the harbour lunch is opening today. I am exited about this because i have spent over 24 hours helping prepare for the opening, i have been doing a lot of cleaning, preparing food storage, taste testing pies and much more.

We will be selling Adersons pies, amazing sandwiches, drinks, coffee, and yet again much more. there is three girls that work there to Steph, Royale and somebody else who's name i haven't picked up yet. They are all exhalent barristers. And of course my boss Barry martin a.k.a. Baz.


Make sure you come down and grab some kai sometime soon, and maybe even buy some fresh fish next door at ocean pearl fish retail where i also work at and Baz owns it to.

its me last year with Dan carters jersey that he used for the first game of the rugby world cup 2011. your probably thinking how and why I got to wear this shirt, well I'll tell you. my old baby sitter (Kurt marath) plays first five eight for Tonga and Tonga played the all blacks in the first game of the rugby world cup. After the game Dan and Kurt gave each other there jerseys. And he let me try it on.

How do you know when you have learnt something new?

When you can do the thing that learnt over and over again.

 

2 things that I did today jake

today we played a new game called 6 ball. I enjoyed it because its the first game we have played in a long time.

Mid winter swimmers !!!

On Friday 21st of June Kieran, Mrs Mcallister and Lucy had the guts to take part in the mid winter swim. which by the way is a swim in the sea at 7.00 am,in the middle of winter!!!

the west coast one base (fishing)

a couple of weeks ago i enterd a fishing comp. we did not go on our boat we went on a big 10 metre boat that goes by the name keeper. early sunday morning 5 in the mornig infact me and dad started to get ready and in no time we wher on the trailer of the boat. we have all brought some food for breakfast on the boat. we where allowd out of the hourber at 7 so. we gatherd some bait fish well haveing bacon . we had a tank that keeps them alive. we planed to go to awhinkino which is 2 hours north.

 

oops i have not indruduced you to the crew we have clown and his luckey tui hat. then the young gun jarod. and the skipper baz. then me and dad. a soon time later we where on our way there was lots of boats behind us it looked prity awsome. an hour and half through the trip up there we saw whals and dolphins an hour later we get the gear out. by the way for the whole time we trolled for a marlin. baz the skipper gave me the whell and i took over for 20 minutes.

 

a soon time later i saw ganutes diving so i told baz to head for them. we got ther 10 minutes later there was big baals of fish and suddenly yelld out thers a marlin on the gear a second later the rod was screaming and clown was in. then it took haif an hour to get it in we tagged it messurd then let it go the esstimated weight was 120 kgs.

 

we where at the fishing club till midnight and went fishing again at the same time as sunday it was taranaki anvisery weekend.

 

i added up our travling time and it was 7 hours all together. by jake

another marlin

On Thursday 21 Febuary Dad and his crew went out again (fifth day in a row) for a fish.  Unfortunatley I had to go to school (not fair) They hooked another marlin which is the third one they have hooked in the natinals. This is a fishing contest between every fishing club in New Zealand and only game fish can  be caught (tuna, marlin and sword fish). It goes for a week. This time it was massive - as big as they can get 150kgs. This time dad did not catch it, another guy did but dad was on the boat and helped tag it and gaf it.  More marlin for the freezer - I should really learn to like the taste!!

frankley ossies first game

On saturday 16th of February the Frankley ossies had theirfirst game for the year againsed Oakura blacks. Jake was captain and won the toss and then chose to field. Keiran opened the bowling and got one wicket in his first over. Oakura ended up with a total of 85 runs. Kieran opened batting with Oscar. Kieran got over 25 runs and in 10 short overs we won but kept on playing ending up whith 125 runs. Well done to all the players for a great game.by jake
